This piece of furniture had been cast off and discarded many years ago when one of the children, who shall remain nameless, broke the doors off of it. Today is Eli's 9th birthday.  I don't know when it happened but my little blue-eyed boy is halfway to adulthood. The grandparents took him for their annual birthday shopping trip and then we celebrated last night by having a few friends over for an outdoor movie night. We've had a busy month with lots of swimming, playing, a trip to Six flags, a day in Birmingham, and a trip to Mobile to the U.S.S. Alabama and U.S.S. Monday we went to the annual China Grove 4th of July Parade. The kids sat on the hood of the car and perfected their future politician waves.  I love going to this parade every year. We've been spending a lot of time outside and it has been HOT! The kids have consumed approximately 2.4 million Popsicles and have enjoyed playing in the sprinkler and, of course, the ever present bucket. Scout enjoys making sure no pesky squirrels or birds come close. Once he is sure the perimeter is clear he takes a break in the shade.

Audrey's dance recital was last night and, although my eyes still hurt from the 4 hour show, I had a great time watching her and the other girls dance. They really did do a great job and Audrey had a great time doing it. She has improved so much since last year.  Last night we had Family Fun Night- Dinner and a Movie. The kids dined at the Faircloth Cafe and then had a night at the Living Room Cinema. This is one of our new neighbors, Shalale. Today the boys had their annual Boyscout Pinewood Derby. They worked hard on their cars and seemed more concerned with appearance than performance. Audrey even weighed in her car. She just new Strawberry could beat all those boys! But, alas, Strawberry and her car exceeded the weight limit and were disqualified. Eli did end up placing 2nd in his den. Well 2011 has started off with a bang. Covenant Grace gathered for our first worship service together on 1/2 and that next Wed-Sat. we moved across town. I. Am. Still. Tired! Yes, I am a day late already! We went to Birmingham yesterday to celebrate Brooks and Metz's birthdays. Brooks decided this year he wanted to celebrate with lunch at Milos and shopping at the LEGO store. They had a great time. We have had a whirlwind weekend. It started off on Sat. morning with choir practice, then Audrey had her Halloween Clogging Recital. We spent last week in Nicholson, Mississippi doing door to door evangelism/prayer walking, handing out info. for block parties, helping with VBS, and pumping gas/washing windows while talking to people about Jesus. Audrey had recital rehearsal last night and will have her first recital tonight. I never was a dancer so this is all new to us but she loves it! The TPD held a Bicycle Rodeo for the Boy Scouts yesterday. The boys had to do safety checks on their bikes, learned turn signals, and rode around some obstacle courses.
