Imagine...........
9:30 Tuesday morning. Because you have 4 children, 3 of which you homeschool, you are not dressed and you won't be until after lunch.
You hear a knock at the door, followed by the ferocious barking that only a 20 lb. schnauzer can emit. You go to the door, followed immediately by 4 children in various stages of dress, where you find a man in a South East Alabama Gas District uniform who informs you that he has to change your meter and must come inside to do so. Now, there has been no letter from the gas company warning of the meter changes, no phone call to set up an appointment time, just a strange man, at the door, wanting to come in.
What would you do????
I said "Thanks but no thanks" to that gas guy. Paranoid...maybe. But it's not like I could scoop up all 4 kids and the yapping schnauzer and run for the closest neighbor. I probably hurt the poor guy's feelings but they really should call first.

A Day in the Life
People are sometimes curious how a family like ours (four kids, at home, all day) spend our time. So I thought I would lay it all out there for you. The good, the bad, and the ugly. This is a look at a typical day in the Faircloth Zoo.6:30 a.m. The noise begins!

- Brooks has Language Arts, Science, History, & Geography
- Eli & Audrey try not to (or try to, depending on the day) kill one another
- I oversee these things while straightening the upstairs
10:30 a.m. Eli & Audrey's turn for school
11:00 a.m. Metz gets up
- the other's go out & play while I feed him
11:30 a.m. LUNCH

One Down
Another project completed! I started last Monday staining both of the porches and I finished this morning. Yes, if I had nothing else to do I could have done it in a day but who has nothing else to do?
I still need to paint the front of the house but...
we've been invaded by these little terrorists and I don't think anyone would buy a house that has lovebugs permanently attached to the front of it.
So, maybe we can resume that this weekend.
For now, I'm off to paint the children oops umm kitchen!

Time Flies When You're Having Fun!
Ten years and one week ago Rob and I decided to get married.
Ten years ago today we actually did it!
We got married in the Faircloth House on Elm Street in the same room where his great grandparents had gotten married. The house has since been torn down but we are still here and ten years and four kids later I must say that I'm glad we made that decision! I can't wait to see where we are in 10 more!
Happy Anniversary Rob!
I Love You!

What Happens When it Rains
Saturday morning.
Soon after this photo was taken, Rob and I made the decision
to pack up and go to a movie.
Monday morning.
Brooks was taking a Language Arts test, he made a 96, Eli & Audrey decided
to try out some body art.
(notice the outfits)
Monday afternoon.
Still raining.....
That body art may last a while.
Rain Rain GO Away
In another life I enjoyed a nice quiet rainy day. The sound of the rain hitting the roof, the excuse to have a leisurely cup of coffee, even the mad dash through the rain if I did have to go somewhere. All of those things used to be fun to me because they are a break from the ordinary.
Fast forward to 2008 & the third straight day of rain and I am about to lose my mind! Gone forever are the nice, quiet rainy days. Gone forever is the sound of the rain hitting the roof!
Now I hear,
"MOOOOOM! HE/SHE/IT'S BOTHERING MEEEEE!!!" stomp, stomp, stomp.
We need the sunshine.
